The Facilities and Operation Building Engineer will join Fidelity's Engineering Operations team to maintain critical building mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems. This role focuses on ensuring reliable equipment operation and supporting facility uptime. The engineer will perform maintenance tasks and oversee vendor activities while collaborating with the engineering staff. The team is dedicated to 24/7 monitoring and maintenance of critical infrastructure systems.
Requirements
- High School diploma, GED, trade school or equivalent required
- 3+ years of related facilities experience
- 2+ years of experience in a mission critical environment is a plus
- Experience with Building Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing or Controls systems
- Licensed HVAC/Refrigeration or Electrical is a plus
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, construction documents and O&M manuals
- Knowledge of computer applications such as Excel, Word, Power Point, Outlook, CMMS and BMS systems
- Comprehensive understanding of HVAC, Plumbing or Electrical industry standards and best practices
- Ability to develop and maintain procedures such as SOP, MOP
- Highly organized and diligent in balancing maintenance priorities
Responsibilities
- Perform all preventive and remedial maintenance work on building mechanical, plumbing and electrical systems
- Monitor multiple building systems and correct deficient performance through adjustments and maintenance
- Direct and assist vendors/contractors during remedial repair activities
- Provide assistance to the engineering staff as needed
- Utilize tools and processes to ensure consistent flow of information and activities
- Complete daily log entries and update engineering staff via email
- Assist with department projects, plans and improvements
- Support Fidelity’s ISO-14001 Environmental Management System and other regulatory requirements
- Employ electrical riser and one-line diagrams to locate and correct faulty circuits
- Complete all critical maintenance on time and with attention to detail
