Job description
The Amazon Robotics Autonomous Mobility team is seeking a talented Software Development Engineer to join their Autonomous Routing and Coordination team in North Reading, MA. This role involves developing software for Proteus, Amazon's first fully-autonomous mobile warehouse robot. The successful candidate will work alongside top scientists and engineers to create algorithms for multi-robot route planning and coordination. The position emphasizes building high-performance systems that navigate dynamic environments safely and efficiently.
Requirements
- 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
- 2+ years of design or architecture experience for new and existing systems
- 1+ years of experience as a software development engineer or in a related role
- 1+ years of experience designing and developing large-scale software applications using C#, C++, Java, or Perl
- 1+ years of Object Oriented Design experience
- Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field
- Experience programming with at least one software programming language
- 3+ years of full software development life cycle experience
- 3+ years of experience building complex software systems
- Experience designing, developing, and deploying robotic systems
- Technical expertise in Autonomous Navigation, Motion Planning, and Control of Autonomous Vehicles
- Experience with simulation platforms and tools
Responsibilities
- Develop software and algorithms for multi-robot route planning and coordination
- Collaborate with a multi-disciplinary team of scientists and engineers
- Build high-performance, scalable, and reliable systems
- Ensure safe and efficient navigation of autonomous mobile robots
- Participate in the full software development life cycle, including coding standards and code reviews
