Job description
The role is for a Product Development Engineer within KLA's SFS-ADE division, focusing on developing and sustaining advanced wafer inspection equipment. The team is responsible for addressing complex customer escalations and ensuring high customer satisfaction through effective technical solutions. This position requires collaboration with various cross-functional teams, including R&D, Applications, Software, Hardware, and Service. The engineer will also support global customers through travel and onsite troubleshooting.
Requirements
- Strong understanding of Systems Engineering principles with experience in the semiconductor industry
- Demonstrated technical depth in optical systems, opto-mechanics, mechatronics, electrical engineering, or mechanical engineering
- Solid foundation in physics, mathematics, and computational methods with strong analytical skills
- Experience with data processing, analytics, and statistical analysis; proficiency in Python and MATLAB is a plus
- Willingness and ability to travel internationally up to 50% to support customers
Responsibilities
- Lead and drive resolution of complex customer escalations by coordinating cross-functional division teams
- Provide sustained engineering support for fielded systems to enable successful customer adoption and long-term product sustainability
- Define, document, and review system specifications and technical requirements
- Contribute to system design and development activities, including architecture definition and performance characterization
- Act as a system-level technical owner for customer support by understanding customer requirements and ensuring solutions meet objectives
- Support customers globally through international travel as required, providing onsite troubleshooting and technical engagement
