Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Electrical Engineering, Energy Engineering, or a closely related field and 3 years of work experience in the job offered or a related Electrical Engineering occupation.
- Master's degree or foreign equivalent in Electrical Engineering, Energy Engineering, or a closely related field and 1 year of work experience in the job offered or a related Electrical Engineering occupation may be accepted in lieu of the above requirements.
- Expertise with Autodesk AutoCAD, Autodesk Revit, and Navisworks software applications.
- Comprehensive understanding of relevant industry electrical codes, including the national electrical code (NEC) and NFPA regulations.
- Experience with the design of medium and low-voltage power systems and in-depth power distribution system analyses.
Responsibilities
- Provide technical leadership and engineering services for electrical systems during the early design and construction phase.
- Support clients in evaluating all codes and identifying deficiencies in submittals.
- Deliver field engineering services for electrical systems during the construction phase of the project.
- Attend client meetings and represent the electrical group.
- Interpret and convey information from studies performed on electrical systems to trades, owners, and general contractors.
- Provide technical support and guidance on detailed design documents and scope clarification for the general contractor.
- Perform field walks and prepare reports based on field observations.
- Provide design direction and implementation during the early design and construction phase of the project.
- Enable construction management to make design alterations as required based on construction needs and methods.
