The Quality Engineer will be part of Tesla's Fremont Quality Engineering organization, focusing on enhancing the production of high-quality electric vehicles. This role emphasizes continual improvement of processes and product quality, requiring a strong problem-solving mindset and a commitment to quality and customer satisfaction. The successful candidate will lead cross-functional teams to address quality issues and implement effective solutions. This position also involves establishing quality metrics and standards to ensure products meet customer expectations.

• Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or equivalent experience
• Quality systems experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably automotive
• Specific training and demonstrated success in applying quality problem-solving methods such as fishbone diagrams, FMEA, and SPC
• Experience with a broad variety of measurement and inspection techniques
• Excellent oral, written, and presentation communication skills
• Ability and willingness to travel domestically and internationally, 5% to 10%
• Detail-oriented with the ability to handle multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines

• Lead cross-functional problem-solving teams to drive process and product improvements
• Establish and maintain quality performance metrics
• Develop and implement quality standards as part of the Tesla Quality System
• Support the development of product specifications and tolerances, design and process FMEAs and DVAs
• Establish and maintain control plans and inspection standards
• Lead and facilitate review and disposition of discrepant materials
• Maintain a clean and organized work area and follow daily housekeeping and 5S standards
• Promote and maintain a culture of continuous improvement within the Tesla team
