Job description

The Sr. Manufacturing Engineer, Stamping Tooling, is responsible for leading the design, development, and optimization of precision stamping dies and tooling for electric motor manufacturing. This role involves collaboration with cross-functional teams to ensure the design and deployment of high-precision stamping dies. The successful candidate will leverage extensive experience in high-volume electric motor stamping to drive tool lifecycles from concept to production. Key focuses include root-cause analysis and continuous process improvements.

Requirements

  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or equivalent experience
  • 5+ years of direct, hands-on experience in tool and die engineering, focusing on progressive dies and electric motor stator production
  • 5+ years of experience with 3D/2D CAD platforms and die simulation software
  • Deep understanding of metallurgy, tool steel selection, coatings, and GD&T
  • Proven track record of applying root cause problem-solving methodologies
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with occasional overtime or shift work
  • Willingness to travel as required for die supplier visits and trials

Responsibilities

  • Spearhead the CAD design and development of custom, high-precision stator dies
  • Collaborate with product design engineers and manufacturing teams for efficient stamping
  • Utilize simulation software to conduct flow, thermal, and stress analysis
  • Conduct root-cause analysis on tooling failures and implement corrective actions
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and technicians
  • Prepare and maintain detailed design specifications and workflows
  • Select and define required spare parts and consumables
