Job description
Tesla is seeking a motivated data engineer to join the Energy Device Core Software Team, focusing on firmware metrics and analytics. The role involves working on infrastructure and tools that collect, store, and analyze firmware metrics for various Tesla Energy products. The candidate will collaborate with development, service, and core data teams on both new and existing components. This position is critical to supporting Tesla's mission of accelerating the transition to sustainable energy.
Requirements
- 3+ years of experience in Data Engineering, Analytics Engineering or equivalent.
- Proficiency in Python and SQL for data processing, automation, and query optimization in production systems.
- Proficiency in data visualization tools such as Tableau and streamlit.
- Experience across the data lifecycle including sourcing, ingestion, transformation, analytics, and visualization.
- Familiarity with data processing frameworks like Spark and Airflow.
- Degree in Computer Science, Mechatronics, Electrical/Software Engineering or equivalent experience.
Responsibilities
- Design and implement data pipelines from ingestion to visualization to facilitate energy firmware product rollouts.
- Define and build metrics that measure new firmware rollout success.
- Build automation, developer tools, and internal libraries that accelerate analysis and visualization for energy products.
- Create visualizations using various tools such as streamlit.
- Iterate with engineering and service partners on the effectiveness of new datasets.
