The Off-Board Charging team is looking for a hardware integration engineer with over 4 years of experience in EVSE hardware integration. This role focuses on integrating, debugging, and validating power electronics and hardware for next-generation charging products. The engineer will work closely with various teams to ensure successful hardware integration from prototype to production. A significant part of the role involves supporting firmware integration and conducting system testing.
Requirements
- 4+ years of hands-on hardware integration and validation experience in product development, preferably in EV, energy, automotive, or industrial sectors.
- Strong foundation in hardware fundamentals with the ability to bridge electrical schematics, harness design, and firmware behavior.
- Ability to read electrical schematics and use lab equipment such as oscilloscopes and power analyzers for troubleshooting.
- Proficiency in reading, comprehending, and debugging C++ for system test and validation.
- Knowledge of power electronics, high-voltage systems, low-voltage embedded hardware, and vehicle communication networks.
- Experience in designing test scripts or automation, preferably in Python.
- High-voltage system integration or grid-connected testing experience is preferred.
- Experience with EVSE, charger, or grid code/compliance testing is preferred.
- Background in power electronics, including converter topologies and protection, is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Integrate, test, and validate EVSE hardware and firmware across prototype, pilot, and production phases.
- Debug and triage integration issues on custom PCBs, harnesses, and power stages.
- Develop and execute integration and validation test plans, aligning milestones to program timelines.
- Lead cross-functional integration discussions with various teams including electrical and firmware.
- Support early prototype development to mitigate risks associated with new hardware designs.
- Read and debug C++ as needed to support system testing and firmware integration.
- Collaborate with manufacturing and test teams to achieve production ramp with effective integration processes.
