Tesla’s Energy Manufacturing Engineering team is looking for a Manufacturing Engineer to innovate tools and processes for sustainable energy production. This role involves collaboration with cross-functional teams throughout the product lifecycle, from initial concepts to full-scale production. The engineer will focus on developing high-quality manufacturing equipment and processes for advanced battery modules. The position requires both domestic and international travel as needed for projects.

• 3+ years of experience developing mechanical and/or electromechanical systems in a high-volume manufacturing environment
• Hands-on proficiency with 2D CAD tools for conceptual line design and 3D modeling for mechanical equipment
• Familiarity with conveyance systems, robotics, and automated functional testing
• Demonstrated ability to create technical specifications for automated manufacturing equipment
• Experience in providing Design for Manufacturability (DFM) and Design for Automation (DFA) input
• Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or equivalent experience

• Develop manufacturing equipment and fixtures to support prototype builds and production
• Determine and procure necessary equipment for all manufacturing processes
• Characterize and validate new equipment and fixtures for production
• Develop new manufacturing processes to enhance efficiency and scalability
• Determine layout of production workstations to optimize product flow and efficiency
• Perform process analysis for process and yield improvements
• Create detailed manufacturing instructions to train technicians and line operators
