The Mechanical Design Engineer role at Meta is focused on addressing innovative mechanical design challenges within the Robotics Hardware team. • 5+ years of experience in Mechanical Design Engineering and with experience in Machine Design
• Experience designing complex electromechanical assemblies such as robotics, automotive, aerospace, or industrial automation
• Experience with SOLIDWORKS, Siemens NX, or similar CAD tools
• Experience with prototyping manufacturing processes and materials
• Experience managing time-sensitive projects through to completion while balancing evolving priorities and a broad range of stakeholders
• Experience in tolerance analysis, geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T)
• Experience in Finite Element Analysis (FEA)

• Design and analyze mechanical problems for prototype robotics structures, mechanisms, and systems integration while balancing ergonomics, performance, reliability, weight, and maintainability.
• Support prototype fabrication and builds by working with internal and external partners to assist in part fabrication and robot builds.
• Build subsystem test fixtures, design tests, create test plans, perform tests, measure and analyze data, and refine design assumptions.
• Collaborate closely with a cross-functional team of engineers to deliver complete technical solutions.
• Troubleshoot the root cause of mechanical failures, implement improved designs, and test the effectiveness of changes.
