Job description
Tesla is seeking a Demand Planning Analyst for its Energy Service Material Planning team. This role focuses on managing and enhancing demand forecasting for Service Parts and Accessories, ensuring availability and optimizing inventory levels. The analyst will work in a collaborative environment with various departments, including Supply Chain and Marketing, to identify demand drivers and improve forecasting accuracy. The position requires strong analytical skills and the ability to develop innovative solutions to streamline demand planning processes.
Requirements
- Master’s Degree in Statistics, Operations Research, Supply Chain Management, Industrial or Systems Engineering, Mathematics, Engineering or equivalent experience.
- 1–2 years of experience in demand planning, supply chain analytics, or data science within a manufacturing or high-volume operations environment.
- Strong mathematical and statistical knowledge relevant to Supply Chain or Operations analytics.
- Proficiency in MS Excel and competency in SQL are required.
- Experience in ERP/WRP systems and data visualization programs such as Tableau or Power BI are preferred.
- Experience with Python (Pandas, NumPy) is preferred.
- Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize tasks based on demand.
- Strong spoken and written communication skills.
Responsibilities
- Create and manage short- and long-term demand forecasts for Service Parts and Accessories.
- Collaborate with Global Supply Managers, Field Operations, and other teams to gather data on key business drivers.
- Analyze historical consumption data and highlight trends using advanced statistical models.
- Develop programs in statistical computing and apply advanced supply chain analytics.
- Collaborate with teams to plan for material End-of-Life (EOL) transition planning.
