The Off-Board Charging team is looking for a system integration engineer with over 3 years of experience in firmware and software integration for EVSE products. This role focuses on integrating, debugging, and validating firmware and controls for Tesla's charging systems. The engineer will act as a technical anchor, facilitating collaboration across firmware, controls, and hardware teams. Key tasks include developing test plans, debugging issues, and supporting hardware integration.
Requirements
- A degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent practical experience.
- 3+ years of experience in firmware/software integration and/or electronic hardware integration in product development.
- Strong foundation in firmware and software fundamentals.
- In-depth understanding of HV power electronic components and associated testing methods.
- Proficiency with EE lab equipment for integration debug and troubleshooting.
- Python test script development skills and the ability to read and comprehend C/C++.
Responsibilities
- Integrate, test, and validate firmware and controls across prototype, pilot, and production phases for EVSE and power converter platforms.
- Lead controls validation and system testing, developing and executing test plans for functions and system performance.
- Debug and triage firmware and software integration issues, identifying root causes and implementing solutions.
- Support hardware integration, including board bring-up and bench debug, for high-power, high-voltage products.
- Conduct failure analysis on issues from lab testing and field deployment, driving corrective actions with cross-functional teams.
- Collaborate with electrical, firmware, mechanical, test, reliability, and manufacturing teams to meet requirements.
