Job description

Tesla is seeking a Process Engineering Technician to enhance productivity and quality at their Energy Hub Operation Centers in North America. This role involves collaborating with various teams to implement Industrial Engineering and Lean Principles across processes. The technician will work on optimizing operations by developing efficient processes and addressing constraints. A strong understanding of manufacturing principles and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment are essential.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Industrial Engineering or 3+ years of related experience in materials management, inventory control, or project management in a manufacturing company.
  • Understanding of Takt Time, Cycle Time, and Lean concepts.
  • Ability to work under pressure while managing competing demands and tight deadlines.
  • Exemplary verbal and written communication skills.
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Ability to work well with others in a collaborative team environment.
  • Comfortable in an environment with unstructured, incomplete, and ambiguous data.

Responsibilities

  • Assist industrial engineers in developing and deploying efficient processes to optimize overall operations.
  • Collaborate with the Ops team to identify local improvement opportunities and lead concept development.
  • Work with third parties on system build, integration testing, project management, implementation, and handoff to operations.
  • Collaborate with stakeholder teams to identify process constraints and execute solutions.
  • Create multi-process workstation layouts, standardized work, staffing, and process maps.
  • Prepare diagrams to illustrate workflow, product routing, floor layouts, material handling, and equipment utilization.
  • Collect statistical cycle time studies, analyze data, and optimize processes.
