As a Senior AI Engineer with a focus on security at Tesla, you will play a crucial role in securing the AI stack from data ingestion to real-time inference in production vehicles. You will collaborate with top engineers and security experts to establish security standards and embed security throughout the AI lifecycle. This position has a significant impact on the safety and reliability of Tesla's autonomous systems. Your work will help ensure that AI technology is both intelligent and secure.

• Degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field or equivalent experience
• 7+ years of professional software engineering experience, with at least 3 years focused on AI/ML systems in production environments
• Deep expertise in machine learning frameworks such as PyTorch and TensorFlow and their security implications
• Proven experience securing complex software systems, including secure coding and vulnerability management
• Hands-on experience with AI security tools like IBM Adversarial Robustness Toolbox and Microsoft AI Fairness 360
• Strong background in containerization and cloud platforms, including secure configuration and IAM
• Solid understanding of cryptography and its application in AI/ML systems
• Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills

• Lead the design and implementation of AI systems with security as a core requirement
• Develop and deploy defenses against adversarial attacks in perception, prediction, and planning models
• Implement secure data pipelines for training and validation, including encryption and access controls
• Build systems to track model lineage and ensure only trusted models are deployed in vehicles
• Design and maintain secure, automated pipelines for model training and deployment
• Conduct regular security assessments of AI systems and prioritize risks
• Lead investigations into AI-related security incidents and drive post-mortems and remediation
• Develop and maintain tools for detecting model vulnerabilities and automating security checks
• Partner with various teams to ensure AI systems meet internal standards and regulatory requirements
• Guide junior engineers and lead security-focused initiatives across the AI engineering organization
