The Manufacturing Test Engineer will be part of the Technical Operations team at Meta Reality Labs, focusing on developing and deploying hardware test systems in collaboration with manufacturing partners. This role requires responsiveness and flexibility within a collaborative team environment, as the engineer will define product test strategies and troubleshoot hardware and software issues. The position emphasizes the importance of manufacturability and testability while ensuring cost-effective designs for testing and automation systems. The engineer will also be involved in the integration of test systems into existing data tracking networks and factory control systems.

• BS or MS degree in Engineering or equivalent experience
• 4+ years of experience in consumer electronic product development and volume manufacturing or related experience
• Experience in Display, Optical, Audio, RF, Sensing, Battery, SMT testing, with an in-depth understanding in one or more of these areas
• Experience with domestic and/or international consumer electronics vendors and supply chain
• Understanding of fundamental considerations of building hardware in development and volume production stages
• Experience in managing detailed test coverages and improving test efficiency in engineering and production phases
• Experience in test automation and test frameworks to enable comprehensive test coverage
• Experience managing vendor engineers and technicians, and building teams that deliver effective technical outcomes

• Develop and implement the manufacturing test strategy during NPI and MP phases of the product lifecycle.
• Work with cross-functional teams to design and deploy the test solutions.
• Develop test requirements and methodology with the Engineering team, implement manufacturing tests at factory sites, and troubleshoot issues during product development and manufacturing ramp.
• Interface directly with the Engineering, Supply Chain, Manufacturing, Quality, and Vendor teams to assist in the development of test procedures.
• Work directly with vendor and CM engineers providing guidance and support in test methods, equipment, and test set-ups.
• Coordinate and travel to suppliers to establish technical and manufacturing processes required during product development and volume manufacturing ramp.
