Job description

The Production Control Process Engineer at Tesla plays a vital role in enhancing manufacturing efficiency and process improvement. This position requires a proactive engineer who can analyze material flow and inventory systems while also presenting data-driven insights to leadership. The engineer will manage projects from inception to completion, collaborating with various teams to ensure optimal production processes. The focus is on driving measurable results that support Tesla's vehicle production goals.

Requirements

  • A degree in an Engineering discipline, Engineering management, or equivalent experience is required.
  • A minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience in a manufacturing environment is preferred.
  • Outstanding critical thinking and communication skills are essential.
  • High emotional intelligence, autonomy, and servant leadership are necessary traits.
  • A demonstrated track record of delivering measurable process improvements in a high-volume manufacturing setting is required.
  • Advanced-level MS Office skills, particularly in Excel and Visio, are needed.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze current Production Control workflows, material handling systems, and inventory processes to identify inefficiencies.
  • Develop and execute structured improvement projects using lean manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies.
  • Conduct time and motion studies, value stream mapping, and process audits to track improvement progress.
  • Develop and manage Plan for Every Part (PFEP) documentation in collaboration with various teams.
  • Support the design and implementation of new production control processes for model launches and capacity expansions.
  • Build and maintain advanced analytical tools and dashboards to provide real-time visibility into Production Control performance.
  • Partner closely with Production, Operations, Quality, Finance, Supply Chain, and other teams to align process improvement initiatives.
