Job description

The Lithium & Recycling (LiR) group at Tesla is seeking a process engineering supervisor to lead an operations team focused on battery recycling. This role involves driving metrics in battery recycling pretreatment and mechanical processing while collaborating with engineering, maintenance, EHS, and R&D teams. The supervisor will be responsible for ensuring production goals are met safely and effectively. A strong emphasis will be placed on improving operational processes and fostering a positive team culture.

Requirements

  • 4+ years of related trade experience in a supervision or management role in high-risk production environments.
  • Experience working in heavy equipment rooms, chemical storage, and industrial waste plants.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English, both written and verbal.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain a positive, professional, and proactive operating group focused on monitoring and technical execution.
  • Plan, supervise, and coordinate Battery Recycling Operations Group activities.
  • Ensure group adherence to safety protocols and advocate for improvements.
  • Lead skilled technical staff in executing complex operations of Battery Recycling equipment and processes.
  • Enforce policies, develop procedures, and plan resource utilization for daily activities.
  • Provide training, mentoring, and career development to shift personnel.
  • Address complex issues, advise team members, and manage on-shift escalations.
