Job description

The Manufacturing Engineer will join the Energy/Charging Manufacturing Engineering team at Tesla, focusing on the development and deployment of advanced assembly and test processes for new manufacturing lines in Fremont, CA. This role emphasizes driving high-quality and efficient production of power electronics for Tesla's energy products. The engineer will be responsible for designing innovative manufacturing processes that meet high-volume production targets while ensuring product excellence. Collaboration with cross-functional teams will be essential to tackle complex problems and drive continuous improvement.

Requirements

  • 4+ years of experience as a Manufacturing Engineer or similar role.
  • Experience with lean and six sigma principles, including proficiency in DMAIC, RCA, DOE, FMEA, PCA, SPC, and Kaizen.
  • Proficiency in data querying, analysis, and visualization using tools like MySQL, Python, R, JMP, or Tableau.
  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or equivalent experience.

Responsibilities

  • Design and develop cutting-edge manufacturing processes for high-volume production.
  • Deploy manufacturing processes and equipment to high-volume production through tool qualification and process documentation.
  • Ramp processes to meet production targets for cycle time, availability, yield, quality, and reliability.
  • Apply various manufacturing techniques and quality assurance methods to ensure product excellence.
  • Lead cross-functional teams to solve complex problems using data-driven decision making.
