Job description

The Systems Integration Engineer (SIE) at Meta is tasked with integrating new hardware platforms and infrastructure technologies into data centers. This role requires deep technical leadership in areas such as server hardware, high-performance computing, and networking. The SIE will collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop test plans and validate new AI/ML products within existing software tooling infrastructure. The position involves significant interaction with engineering, operations, and leadership teams to ensure successful hardware integration.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of experience in system administration or engineering, hardware validation testing and/or acceptance testing of AI/ML, compute, storage or networking equipment.
  • Strong communications skills and demonstrated ability to influence cross-functional teams.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and a solution-oriented attitude.
  • Proven track record of dealing with ambiguity and developing processes for new technologies and taking them to production.
  • Experience developing test plans derived from specifications and executing to those plans using industry-standard testing tools.
  • Strong technical aptitude demonstrated by familiarity with ASIC, compute, storage & network architecture and components.
  • Experience working in a global environment with geographically distributed teams.
  • Experience coding in higher-level languages such as Python, PHP, C++, or Java.
  • Experience with operational validation methods and verification activities for new product integration.
  • Experience building cross-functional relationships and influencing policies and procedures to improve hardware platform integration.

Responsibilities

  • Lead new product introduction and associated processes for the successful launch of new hardware platforms into data centers globally.
  • Lead architecture reviews with hardware engineering teams to analyze and develop diagnostic coverage plans for both hardware and software.
  • Lead hardware reviews and drive system Design for Serviceability requirements to ensure form, fit and function for new hardware development.
  • Lead the development and execution of Data Center readiness tooling validation testing based on tooling development plans.
  • Engage early with design development teams to drive improvements and influence hardware and tooling architecture.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to deliver aligned new hardware platform roadmaps and gain agreement on implementation milestones.
  • Collaborate with Production Engineers, Hardware Validation Engineers, Tooling Automation Engineers, and Data Center Operations Engineers to build thorough test strategies.
  • Work with ODM/OEM vendors to define product specifications, development plans, and test plans.
  • Capture lessons learned for issues in Production and create test cases to address those issues in future hardware platforms.
  • Travel 25% domestically and/or internationally to Meta Data Centers/offices.
