Job description
The Senior Software Engineer will join Apple's Rights & Pricing engineering team, which is responsible for managing distribution rights and pricing for Apple Services globally. This role focuses on architecting and building distributed systems that ensure accurate pricing and partner onboarding processes. The engineer will work on modernizing critical business systems and enhancing the partner experience. Collaboration with various teams to solve complex problems and mentor junior engineers will also be key aspects of this position.
Requirements
- Bachelor of Science in Computer Science or equivalent work experience.
- 5+ years of experience developing software in Java.
- Experience designing and developing for large-scale distributed systems.
- Experience working with distributed NoSQL and relational databases.
- Experience programming in multi-threaded synchronous and asynchronous applications.
- Strong background in Unix/Unix-like operating systems.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Experience with messaging platforms such as Kafka.
- Familiarity with AI-assisted engineering tools.
- Experience with caching strategies, observability tooling, and system performance tuning.
Responsibilities
- Architect and build distributed, fault-tolerant services for managing distribution rights and pricing.
- Own and evolve the Partner Onboarding process, ensuring accuracy and security.
- Design and modernize business systems for payments, invoicing, and financial reporting.
- Collaborate to solve complex problems and communicate technical approaches effectively.
- Drive modernization of the codebase and maintain high levels of test automation.
- Support ongoing maintenance and release activities for reliability.
- Mentor less experienced software engineers and partner with teams to develop new capabilities.
