Job description
The Streaming Media Engineering team at Apple is seeking a senior media application engineer to lead the design and implementation of AirPlay on third-party devices. This role involves working cross-functionally with various design and engineering teams to develop new features and APIs for third-party partners. The engineer will take technical ownership of key areas, ensuring a high-quality AirPlay experience for billions of customers globally. The position requires a strong background in software engineering and a passion for media technologies.
Requirements
- BS or MS in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or equivalent.
- 8+ years of programming experience with proficiency in C/C++, Objective-C, and JavaScript.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
- Demonstrated technical leadership experience.
- Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills.
- Experience with audio and video codecs such as H.264, HEVC, AAC, and AV1.
- Experience with networking protocols.
- Knowledge of adaptive streaming technologies such as HLS or DASH.
- Experience using HTML5 based video playback technologies such as MSE and EME.
- Experience with mobile devices, embedded devices, and media players.
