Job description
We are looking for an experienced Lab Engineer with a strong mechanical background to join our testing laboratory. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with testing equipment and mechanical assembly. This role focuses on designing and executing test procedures for mechanical and electromechanical systems while collaborating with cross-functional teams to enhance product quality. The position also involves maintaining laboratory equipment and supporting continuous improvement initiatives.
Requirements
- 3+ years of experience in a Lab engineering role
- Experience interpreting, modifying, and developing mechanical and electrical drawings
- Experience in material handling equipment (MHE) or automation environments
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
- Proficiency with a wide range of hand and power tools
- Experience with various transducers and data acquisition systems
- Familiarity with Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs)
- Knowledge of statistical analysis methods
- Familiarity with quality management systems
- Experience with CAD software
- Project management experience
- Experience with 5S practices
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and execute test procedures for mechanical and electromechanical systems
- Build, modify, and maintain test fixtures and equipment
- Analyze test data and prepare detailed technical reports
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues with test equipment and procedures
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve product quality and reliability
- Participate in the assembly of material handling equipment
- Maintain laboratory equipment and ensure calibration compliance
- Support continuous improvement initiatives for testing processes
