Job description

The Senior Network Engineer will join the Enterprise Network Services team at Morgan Stanley, focusing on deploying and supporting critical network infrastructure for both internal and external platforms. This role requires extensive experience in network security and infrastructure management within highly regulated environments. The ideal candidate will have a strong track record in executing complex infrastructure changes while maintaining network resiliency. This position emphasizes collaboration with various teams to ensure optimal performance and availability of business-critical services.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of enterprise network engineering experience.
  • Proven experience executing critical security patching and production network upgrades in large-scale environments.
  • Strong experience supporting both internal infrastructure and internet-facing production services.
  • Experience operating in financial services, trading, telecommunications, cloud, or other mission-critical environments.
  • Strong understanding of network resiliency, high availability, and disaster recovery principles.

Responsibilities

  • Implement and support enterprise-scale network infrastructure across data centers, cloud, and campus environments.
  • Provide Tier-3 support and technical leadership during major incidents and escalations.
  • Develop and maintain network standards, update documentation, and engineering procedures.
  • Lead planning, testing, risk assessment, and deployment of critical security and infrastructure patches across production environments.
  • Drive execution of complex maintenance activities with minimal customer or business impact.
  • Coordinate maintenance windows, rollback plans, validation testing, and post-implementation reviews.
  • Ensure compliance with security, audit, and regulatory requirements through timely remediation of vulnerabilities.
  • Partner with Security, Infrastructure, Application, and Operations teams to prioritize and execute remediation activities.
  • Maintain high availability and resilience of business-critical services.
  • Monitor network performance and proactively identify risks before they impact production.
  • Develop automation solutions using Python, Ansible, or similar tools to improve operational and deployment efficiency.
