The Systems Integration Engineer role at DoorDash Labs focuses on building robust and scalable integration processes for robotics and automation in last-mile logistics. This position requires collaboration with mechanical, electrical, firmware, and software engineers to ensure cohesive system functionality. The engineer will define subsystem interfaces and verify platform-level readiness before validation and manufacturing. This role is fully onsite and reports to the Autonomy Platform Lead.
Requirements
- BS/MS degree in Electrical Engineering, Robotics, Mechatronics, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical field.
- 5+ years of experience in hardware/software integration, system integration, vehicle bring-up, or hardware validation for robotics or complex mechatronics systems.
- Proven experience troubleshooting complex physical systems and diagnosing electrical and communication faults.
- Experience with basic scripting for executing tests and logging data.
- Solid understanding of digital electronics and embedded peripherals for hardware-level troubleshooting.
- Knowledge of hardware electrical systems for reading schematics and troubleshooting.
Responsibilities
- Support early integration of new subsystem designs by defining interface contracts and integration risks.
- Design and build hardware-in-the-loop systems and physical test benches for system-level validation.
- Implement automated test sequences and validation procedures to stress-test integrated platform behavior.
- Lead system-level debugging when issues cross subsystem boundaries.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify integration gaps impacting vehicle safety and performance.
- Document integration procedures, test results, and platform readiness for validation and manufacturing teams.
