Job description
As a Sr. Service Engineer for Low Voltage Electrical at Rivian, you will act as the main link between field technicians and design engineering for assigned vehicle programs. Your role will focus on ensuring serviceability is prioritized in new designs and developing innovative solutions for servicing vehicles post-launch. You will collaborate with various teams to improve service standards and address emerging concerns. This position requires a blend of technical expertise and strong communication skills to effectively support the serviceability of Rivian's electric vehicles.
Requirements
- BS in a relevant engineering discipline
- Five years of low voltage electrical engineering experience in the automotive or comparable industry
- Experience developing or servicing automotive electrical hardware is strongly preferred
- Ability to work with various interpersonal and communication styles
- Proficiency in CAE design tools such as 3DEXPERIENCE CATIA, Capital HarnessXC, or Altium Designer
- Established analytical and problem-solving capabilities
Responsibilities
- Oversee design aspects for serviceability on new vehicle programs related to the low-voltage electrical system
- Develop and drive service standards into the engineering development process
- Define the service part Bill of Materials strategy for electrical devices and components
- Review engineering change proposals and identify impacts to service parts and processes
- Verify that repairs and field action instructions can be accurately performed by technicians
- Collaborate with service tool engineering and other stakeholders to enable successful repairs
- Ensure service procedures are properly applied in the field
- Track serviceability metrics across multiple products and implement continuous improvement
