Job description

Jacobs is seeking a mid-level Transportation Drainage Engineer to join their Dallas or Fort Worth office. This role focuses on supporting highway, bridge, and rail projects across Texas and other states. The ideal candidate will thrive in a collaborative, fast-paced environment and is motivated to take on leadership responsibilities over time. The position involves working closely with multidisciplinary teams to design and analyze transportation drainage systems.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering from a U.S. ABET accredited school or equivalent.
  • Registration as Professional Engineer (PE) in Texas or the ability to obtain it within six months if licensed in another state.
  • More than 5 years of experience in drainage design, hydrologic, and hydraulic analyses for mid- and/or large-scale transportation projects.
  • Effective communication skills to coordinate all drainage design phases with other team disciplines.

Responsibilities

  • Work in a team environment on detailed storm drainage analysis and design for urban and rural transportation projects.
  • Conduct drainage analysis and design according to project requirements and various transportation and public works agencies.
  • Support the preparation of contract drainage drawings, specifications, and estimates.
  • Prepare project-specific drainage and hydraulic reports and technical memoranda.
  • Provide hydraulic impact analysis for cross drainage structures and integrate results into designs with other disciplines.
  • Assist in mentoring and technical development of junior engineers.
