Job description
The Senior Electrical Engineer will design and build electrical systems for next-generation automation robots, working closely with mechanical and software engineers. This role involves hands-on work in the engineering lab to transform prototypes into production-ready solutions. The team focuses on creating industrial control panels and integrating various components to enhance Amazon's operational efficiency. The position requires collaboration across disciplines to ensure seamless integration of electrical subsystems with mechanical and software components.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or above in electrical engineering, computer engineering, or equivalent
- 5+ years of experience designing industrial control panels or electrical systems for automated equipment
- Experience with ECAD tools such as EPLAN, AutoCAD Electrical, or SolidWorks Electrical
- Experience working with PLCs, industrial sensors, and motor drives
- Hands-on experience using oscilloscopes, multimeters, and function generators
- Familiarity with NEC and UL 508A standards for industrial control panels
- Experience aiding equipment commissioning and troubleshooting in production or warehouse environments
Responsibilities
- Design industrial control panels using EPLAN and specify components to meet system requirements
- Research and evaluate sensors, actuators, motors, and other electrical components for automation systems
- Perform system-level electrical design and integration with mechanical and software components
- Create wiring harness designs and electrical documentation for prototype and production systems
- Build, assemble, and test prototype wiring harnesses and control panels in the lab
- Conduct electrical validation using standard equipment and iterate based on test results
- Assist in field deployment and troubleshooting as needed
