As the Engineering Manager for the Crawl Infrastructure team at Apple, you will lead the development and operation of a web crawl platform that operates at petabyte scale. This role requires a technically deep manager who can oversee distributed systems engineers and ensure the infrastructure aligns with Apple's strategic AI and search initiatives. You will be responsible for building a technical roadmap that balances reliability, feature velocity, and scalability. Collaboration with various teams across Apple will be essential to translate knowledge requirements into engineering solutions.

• 8+ years of software engineering experience
• 3+ years of engineering management experience leading distributed systems engineers in a production environment
• Experience designing and operating large scale distributed systems
• Familiarity with cloud infrastructure at scale, such as AWS or equivalent
• Strong programming background in Rust, Scala, or Go
• BS or MS in Computer Science or equivalent experience

• Lead a group of distributed systems engineers in building and operating a complex data collection platform
• Drive large, multi-quarter projects end-to-end, including scoping, sequencing, staffing, and delivering against a roadmap
• Partner with downstream product and ML teams to translate real-world knowledge requirements into engineering reality
• Build a technical roadmap that balances reliability improvements, feature velocity, and platform scalability
• Participate in production incident management and stakeholder communication
