Job description
The BIM Systems Engineer will join Apple's Data Center Engineering team, which is responsible for evaluating new technologies related to IT servers and Data Center Infrastructure. This role focuses on leading CAD, BIM, and engineering documentation systems management. The ideal candidate will collaborate with diverse functions in the data center AEC space and ensure the quality of CAD drawings and BIM models on complex projects. The position requires a logical mindset and a willingness to explore new tools and processes.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Structural, or Civil Engineering, Architecture, or equivalent experience.
- 5+ years of experience in building-related 3D modeling on large, complex, MEP intensive projects.
- 5+ years of experience in BIM administration and tool automation.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams.
- Strong familiarity with drafting (AutoCAD) and modeling (Revit, Navisworks, and reality capture) applications.
- Detailed knowledge of Autodesk Construction Cloud.
- Experience with scripting and/or visual programming automation tools (Dynamo and Python).
- Advanced spreadsheet and/or database skills for data manipulation, project tracking, and analysis.
- Proficiency with Mac, Linux, and Windows systems.
- Experience with Civil3D and ArcGIS integration.
- Fluency in written and spoken English.
Responsibilities
- Serve as the subject matter expert for the Data Center Engineering function.
- Oversee the owner quality review of CAD drawings and BIM models on large, complex projects.
- Provide leadership in documentation-related process development and re-engineering.
- Develop and maintain the BIM technologies roadmap.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams and train at Apple facilities as needed.
