The Network Operations Engineer at Google will be responsible for the deployment, maintenance, and operations of private data networks globally. This role involves collaboration with various teams including Technical Program Managers and Network Engineers to ensure the reliability and efficiency of the network. The engineer will also be involved in troubleshooting network issues and providing support for field operations. The main focus is to build a scalable and cost-effective network that meets the needs of customers worldwide.

• Bachelor's degree in Network Engineering or Telecom Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
• 3 years of experience in telecommunications working with optical network infrastructure and data services.
• Experience in network operations and systematic troubleshooting in IP and Optical environments.
• Experience with Unix/Linux administration and scripting/coding.
• Experience with TCP/IP and network routing protocols such as OSPF, IS-IS, BGP, and MPLS.

• Respond to network outages by diagnosing Layer 1 to Layer 3 network errors and initiating repairs.
• Develop workflows and systems to diagnose optical Layer 1 and Layer 3 network issues.
• Participate in 24/7 global team shift rotations.
• Provide remote support for field operations related to network repairs.
• Interface with high-level customers to communicate repair status and updates.
