Job description

The Network Development Engineer role at Amazon Leo focuses on designing, building, and operating network infrastructure across various environments. Requirements

  • 4+ years of experience with major internet routing protocols
  • 1+ years of experience working in a Linux/Unix environment
  • 1+ years of experience in data center operations or network deployment
  • 3+ years of network engineering experience in design, deployment, and operations
  • Proficiency in network automation using Python, Ansible, or equivalent
  • Experience with enterprise/data center switching platforms like Arista or Cisco Nexus
  • Hands-on experience with Linux networking concepts
  • 1+ years of automation scripting experience using Python, Bash, Shell, or Perl
  • Experience supporting engineering labs or test environments
  • Familiarity with embedded systems integration
  • Exposure to SDN concepts or programmable data planes
  • Understanding of systems engineering lifecycle

Responsibilities

  • Design and deploy network architectures including switching fabrics and routing across environments
  • Automate network provisioning and operational workflows to enhance scalability
  • Operate and sustain multi-tenant network environments while delivering repeatable solutions
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex network events from physical layer to application connectivity
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to define requirements for new designs and products
  • Lead projects in network deployment and infrastructure scaling
  • Maintain standards for change management and documentation across the networking toolset
