Job description

The role of Director Full Stack Engineer at Fidelity Labs involves leading the development of innovative applications for an early-stage GenAI startup focused on investment research. This position requires collaboration with multi-functional teams and the VP of Technology to drive technical decisions and deliver scalable solutions. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in software engineering and technical leadership, with a strong emphasis on building modular and reusable components. Requirements

  • A Master’s degree or equivalent experience in computer science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • 10+ years of professional software engineering experience, with a proven track record of delivering complex applications.
  • 5+ years of technical leadership experience.
  • Deep full-stack expertise in Python, EKS, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Angular, AWS, and database systems.
  • Strong understanding of modular architecture, component sharing, and scalable design principles.
  • Experience building and integrating RESTful APIs and working with cloud-native technologies.
  • High degree of autonomy and ownership, able to drive projects forward with minimal guidance.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to influence and align partners.

Responsibilities

  • Drive the design and development of modular, reusable front-end components in Angular.
  • Define and execute on tech vision in consultation with architecture, engineering, and product leadership.
  • Lead the creation and maintenance of engineering standards to ensure relevance and innovation.
  • Architect and implement robust back-end services using Python, EKS, and AWS.
  • Champion standard processes in modular application design, including micro-frontends and shared libraries.
  • Mentor agile teams including developers, testers, and analysts.
