Job description

The Senior Mechanical Controls Systems Support Engineer provides global technical support for the Amazon Control System and associated controls infrastructure across AWS data centers. This role is essential for ensuring the reliable and efficient operation of critical data center infrastructure. The engineer will work closely with various teams to maintain and improve control system performance. Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in electrical or mechanical engineering, engineering technology or equivalent, or 4+ years of industrial controls and automation experience
  • 5+ years of industrial controls and automation experience
  • Experience with Building Management Systems (BMS) such as Schneider EBO/SBO, Siemens, and Tridium/Niagara
  • Experience with Electrical Power Monitoring Systems (EPMS) including Schneider PSO, ABB, and Eaton Foreseer
  • Knowledge of continuously operating redundant electrical systems, cooling systems, air flow containment systems, and building management systems
  • Experience in a data center or other critical environment
  • Proficiency in scripting/programming for automation and data analysis, particularly in Python and CodeSys
  • Niagara/Tridium certification (N4 or equivalent)
  • Knowledge of PLC programming with Rockwell, Schneider, or Beckhoff

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary technical expert for Building Management Systems and Electrical Power Monitoring Systems.
  • Contribute significantly and autonomously with consistently high-quality work.
  • Focus on major portions of controls systems across multiple builds and locations.
  • Develop standard design and configuration templates to improve the overall system.
  • Deliver medium to large technology projects that are time-bound and business-critical.
  • Participate in the full system development life cycle.
  • Mentor junior engineers and new hires.
  • Maintain and improve control system performance through troubleshooting and technical problem-solving.
