Job description

The Camera Systems Engineering Group is seeking a position sensing systems engineer to lead the development of innovative camera technologies for Apple products. This role involves collaborating with various teams to enhance camera performance and create exceptional photography experiences. The engineer will apply systems engineering principles to connect use-case requirements with system-level and component-level specifications. The position requires a deep understanding of sensing systems and a strong background in electrical engineering.

Requirements

  • B.S. in Electrical Engineering, Electrical and Computer Engineering, Engineering Physics, or a similar field.
  • PhD in Electrical Engineering, Electrical and Computer Engineering, Engineering Physics, or a similar field.
  • 10+ years of work or industry experience.
  • Skills and/or experience with magnetic or optical sensing systems.
  • Training and/or experience with Electrical Engineering fundamentals including analog and digital electronics and signal processing.
  • Experience implementing behavioral models of sensing system signal chains using MATLAB or Python.
  • Experience with measurement science, calibration, and physical modeling.
  • Experience with statistical data analysis tools like JMP for high volume manufacturing data analysis.
  • Experience with magneto-static simulations using Finite Element Analysis tools like ANSYS or COMSOL.
  • Familiarity with cameras, optics, and control systems.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate across groups.
  • Self-motivated and able to lead projects independently.

Responsibilities

  • Lead product and technology development projects for camera systems.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, develop, test, and qualify camera hardware.
  • Conduct systems-level analysis and design for new camera features and technologies.
  • Document requirements in Engineering Requirements Specifications.
  • Apply systems engineering concepts to connect use-case requirements to system-level and component-level requirements.
