Job description

The Data Scientist role in the Search Platform team at Google focuses on understanding and improving Search systems through advanced analytics and machine learning. The team works on various aspects such as user experience, reliability, and content regulation. As a Data Scientist, you will develop innovative methodologies to enhance user-perceived reliability metrics and analyze the impact of user friction on retention. This position offers the opportunity to influence billions of users globally by solving complex engineering challenges.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in Statistics, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Economics, Operations Research, Engineering, or a related quantitative field.
  • 5 years of work experience using analytics to solve product or business problems, coding in Python, R, or SQL, and querying databases.
  • Alternatively, 3 years of work experience with a PhD degree.

Responsibilities

  • Extract strategic insights from large and complex datasets to optimize user experience.
  • Execute comprehensive analyses including data ingestion, processing, and modeling.
  • Build and prototype analysis pipelines iteratively to provide insights at scale.
  • Interact cross-functionally with various teams to identify and assess improvements to AI products.
  • Make strategic business recommendations and present findings to leadership.
