Job description
As a Senior Data Visualization Engineer at Netflix, you will play a crucial role in enhancing the subscriber experience through data-driven insights. You will collaborate with analytics engineers and product managers to create intuitive data visualizations that communicate key business trends. The position requires a strong technical background and a passion for transforming complex data into engaging experiences. You will also have the opportunity to explore new technologies, including Generative AI, to innovate and improve our products.
Requirements
- You have a passion for making complex data easy to understand.
- You possess foundational data experience design skills and understand the core principles of data visualization.
- You have front-end skills with experience in Node.js and JavaScript, preferably TypeScript.
- You thrive in a collaborative environment and enjoy partnering with other engineers and cross-functional team members.
- You are familiar with data-centric work and have skills in querying data using SQL or GraphQL.
- You have an interest in the entire product lifecycle and are keen to learn about product development.
- You have some experience with or curiosity about Generative AI tooling.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate closely with senior analytics engineers, data scientists, and product managers to build and iterate on core data products.
- Transform complex data into engaging and informative visualizations that clearly explain key business trends.
- Own, diagnose, and solve technical problems in the codebase while improving engineering velocity.
- Support the team by addressing ad hoc business-critical questions to learn about the member business.
- Explore new technologies and share opinions on leveraging emerging trends to enhance products and workflows.
Benefits
- Employees at Netflix are often offered flexible, people-first benefits—unlimited time away, generous parental leave, global family-forming support, mental-health programs (mindfulness, free counseling/coaching), and health coverage tailored by country. Financially, Netflix pays at personal top-of-market and lets employees choose their mix of cash vs. fully-vested 10-year stock options, alongside donation and volunteer matching. Convenience perks can include trust-based travel/expense policies, relocation support, and “Work, Not Drive” rideshare flexibility.
