Job description

The role is for a Hardware Engineer in Apple's Camera Hardware Engineering group, focusing on the development of high-performance compact camera modules. The engineer will lead camera hardware projects and collaborate with product and technology teams. This position requires a deep understanding of camera systems and innovative design solutions. The goal is to enhance the photography experience for Apple customers through advanced camera technology.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Optical Science, Physics, or a related field
  • Master's or PhD degree and 10+ years of relevant industry experience
  • Mechanical design experience using CAD 3D molding and drafting package
  • Experience with NX
  • Tolerance analysis experience of high complexity and precision mechanical designs with excellent understanding of GD&T
  • Experience designing for plastic injection molding and metal stamping for mass production
  • Experience with various materials including research, selection, testing, and process ability
  • PCB design experience
  • Experience with magnetic simulation and voice coil motor (VCM) for camera

Responsibilities

  • Take ownership of the development of high-performance compact camera modules
  • Lead camera hardware projects in collaboration with product and technology teams
  • Research, design, develop, test, and qualify camera hardware for Apple products
  • Design and develop innovative technology for camera systems from sensor to lens
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance the camera experience
