Job description

The AWS hardware engineering team is seeking a technology leader to enhance the engineering of server hardware and software. This role involves collaborating with diverse teams to solve complex problems and ensure optimal server performance. The candidate will work closely with CPU/GPU suppliers to influence future architectures. The position offers a fast-paced environment that encourages innovative thinking and problem-solving.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering or related discipline
  • 5+ years of experience identifying and root-causing hardware and software issues in large scale systems
  • 5+ years of experience with customer support for debugging and root-causing CPU performance issues
  • 5+ years of experience in CPU/memory architecture and subsystem design
  • Master's degree in electrical engineering, computer engineering, or equivalent
  • 5+ years of experience with new CPU technology bring up
  • 5+ years of experience with statistical analysis using large scale data
  • 5+ years of experience leading memory standardization through JEDEC, CPU architecture, RAS, DDR Memory technology, system performance, security and troubleshooting
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, validate, launch, monitor, and troubleshoot server systems at large scale.
  • Ensure servers operate at maximum performance while staying within thermal budgets.
  • Collaborate with internal and external interdisciplinary teams of engineers.
  • Align and influence CPU/GPU supplier roadmaps and drive future architectures.
  • Lead architecturally significant projects from inception through launch.
