The Power Generation Engineer will serve as a technical lead within the Power Generation Solutions team at AWS, focusing on the evaluation and development of power designs for data centers. This role involves leading the development of innovative power and energy configurations to meet customer expectations. The team is dedicated to advancing AWS's mission of delivering world-class cloud services while ensuring high infrastructure uptime and minimizing costs. Candidates should be passionate about solving complex problems and collaborating with diverse teams.

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field
• 3+ years of experience with leading power infrastructure designs in complex mission critical facilities
• In-depth knowledge of continuous operating redundant electrical systems and power infrastructure
• Experience and knowledge of power generation equipment, systems, and controls
• Ability to interpret wiring diagrams, single and three-line diagrams, and mechanical and electrical drawing packages
• Professional Engineer License
• Experience with building codes and regulations for your region
• 6+ years of direct experience with the design, construction, operation, or maintenance of mission critical data centers or power infrastructure
• Familiarity with power flow studies and utility interconnection requirements
• Experience with commissioning and/or performance testing of critical infrastructure

• Develop designs and analysis of different power generation sources to serve data center loads
• Support the development of power generation configurations for primary, temporary, or backup power applications
• Understand the design and functionality of the global data center fleet
• Interpret, evaluate, and develop Single Line Drawings and engineering documentation
• Provide feedback to Design Engineering teams for design revisions and operational upgrades
• Understand grid interconnection standards and work on microgrid design and controls
• Work on concurrent projects in multiple geographical regions
• Lead within the group and collaborate with other teams
