Job description

The Acoustic Engineer will join the Beats Acoustics team, which focuses on the acoustic design and sound quality of Beats audio products. This role involves taking innovative microphone and telephony hardware concepts from design to mass production. The engineer will collaborate with multi-functional teams to enhance the audio experience of Beats products. A strong passion for audio and knowledge of acoustic theory are essential for success in this position.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of relevant industry experience is preferred.
  • A strong passion for audio and fundamental knowledge of acoustic theory.
  • Practical understanding of microphones and acoustic transducers.
  • Proficiency with acoustic simulation tools such as LPM tools and COMSOL.
  • Excellent written, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency using tools such as MATLAB or Python for audio and acoustic system development.
  • Experience with integration of microphones and VPUs.
  • Familiarity with 3D CAD tools.

Responsibilities

  • Take new microphone and telephony hardware concepts from design to mass production.
  • Provide input on mechanical and electrical design to industrial and product design teams.
  • Simulate, build, and validate acoustic designs.
  • Contribute to digital signal processing to enhance the audio product experience.
  • Support engineering and manufacturing test activities with limited international travel.
