The Apple Services Engineering team is seeking talented engineers to develop virtualization-based runtimes for Virtual Machines and Linux Containers across Apple platforms. This role focuses on building foundational technology with an emphasis on privacy, security, and performance. The team works on greenfield projects unique to Apple's hardware, contributing to both internal services and the open source community. Candidates will have the opportunity to work alongside experienced engineers in a fast-paced environment.

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or equivalent related experience.
• At least 3+ years of software design and development experience in infrastructure engineering, containerization, or systems programming.
• Programming proficiency in C, C++, Swift, or Go.
• Familiarity with Linux containerization, Linux filesystems, image distribution, and kernel security.
• Experience with Linux system programming and participating in code reviews.

• Develop virtualization-based runtimes using macOS virtualization and VMM solutions.
• Contribute to design documents and technical discussions.
• Write clear, well-tested code with a focus on performance and security.
• Troubleshoot and analyze metrics to identify resource contention and bottlenecks.
• Design benchmarks and load tests to characterize performance and scalability.
