Job description

This role is a Vice President position within the Americas Research Risk Management team at Morgan Stanley. The team is focused on enhancing governance structures and operational risk frameworks in a consistent manner across the globe. The position involves supervising risk controls, monitoring existing frameworks, and supporting incident risk assessments. The role requires collaboration with global colleagues to resolve complex risk incidents and improve operational processes.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, or other related fields
  • 5+ years of industry experience in a Legal, Compliance or Risk Management role preferred
  • Strong problem solving and critical thinking skills
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience with Microsoft platforms, Zoom, and Teams

Responsibilities

  • Supervise day-to-day risk controls related to the research business unit
  • Monitor existing control frameworks and create new ones if necessary
  • Maintain the Risk team’s established policies and procedures
  • Support the development of a thematic incident risk assessment program
  • Lead projects related to the supervisory platform and information security program
  • Assist with audits and compliance assessments
  • Work with global colleagues to resolve complex risk incidents
  • Implement department ideas and initiatives through operational analysis
  • Build strong working relationships with global members from associated control functions
