Job description

The Welding Engineer – Senior position is a remote role focused on manufacturing for Cummins in Indianapolis, IN. The engineer will lead the development and implementation of welding processes to enhance safety, quality, and productivity. This role requires advanced welding expertise to improve product reliability and optimize manufacturing performance. The engineer will also mentor team members and influence business decisions related to welding strategies.

Requirements

  • A college or university degree in STEM or a related field, or equivalent experience is required.
  • 3 to 5 years of relevant manufacturing quality experience is required.
  • Welding experience is required, with hands-on Laser Welding experience preferred.
  • This position may require licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Drive manufacturing excellence by leading the development and implementation of welding processes.
  • Improve product quality and reliability by optimizing process parameters and reducing defects.
  • Lead strategic process improvement initiatives to increase efficiency and reduce waste.
