Job description
The role involves working with Apple's Acoustics team, focusing on transducer design and development to enhance audio experiences for customers. You will collaborate with a diverse group of experts in acoustics, mechanical engineering, and audio integration. The position requires a strong background in acoustic principles and experience with simulation software. You will also work closely with manufacturing partners to scale production and testing of custom transducers.
Requirements
- Strong background in acoustic principles, vibration, and electromechanical systems.
- Experience with Finite Element Analysis software COMSOL for simulations and analysis.
- Working knowledge of lumped-parameter simulation methods and tools, such as MATLAB and Simulink.
- Experience with 3D solid modeling and meshing tools.
- BS in Mechanical Engineering, Audio/Acoustic Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Materials Science or equivalent.
- MS or PhD in Mechanical Engineering, Audio/Acoustic Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Materials Science preferred.
Responsibilities
- Drive all aspects of transducer design and development.
- Help manufacturing partners scale production and testing.
- Perform linear and non-linear computer simulations of electromagnetic, acoustics, and structural mechanics.
- Optimize each design aspect for custom transducers.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver great audio.
