Job description
Apple is looking for an experienced Software Engineer to contribute to the development of the iCloud platform and its underlying cloud services infrastructure. The role involves designing and implementing key components that enhance user applications while ensuring strong privacy guarantees. The engineer will work closely with skilled teams to build CloudKit, Apple's privacy-focused sync and storage system. This position offers the chance to deepen expertise in distributed systems and contribute to impactful engineering projects.
Requirements
- 5+ years of software engineering experience with strong programming skills in Objective-C and/or Swift
- Experience building on Apple Platforms such as macOS, iOS, watchOS, and tvOS
- Experience in building system-level frameworks and APIs
- Excellent communication skills
- Bachelor's Degree in an engineering-related field or equivalent related experience
- Experience in Swift concurrency
- Experience with security, privacy, and cryptography concepts
- Experience with event-based programming or inter-process communication is a plus
- Proven track record of working on rapid development cycles and shipping software on tight schedules
Responsibilities
- Design and build frameworks and daemons that support iCloud services
- Collaborate with engineering teams across the company to adopt new technologies
- Integrate new capabilities into Apple's operating systems
- Enable new applications and scale existing ones like iCloud Drive and FaceTime
- Focus on protocol design, interprocess communication, and device resource management
