Job description

Join the Sensor Technology Team at Apple, where you will develop cutting-edge sensing solutions for products like the iPhone and Apple Watch. This multi-disciplinary team focuses on enhancing user experience through innovative engineering and problem-solving. You will engage in the entire development process, from proof-of-concept to product launch, in a dynamic and agile environment. Your analytical skills will be essential in tackling daily challenges and driving technical issues to resolution.

Requirements

  • BS degree and a minimum of 10 years of relevant industry experience.
  • Strong understanding of electrical elements fundamentals, Opamp circuits, and signal processing.
  • Strong understanding of Newtonian physics and Electromagnetism.
  • Strong background in PCB board-level analog and mixed-signal circuits and/or embedded systems.
  • MS or PhD degree and a minimum of 5 years of relevant industry experience.
  • Experience with flexible circuit design and layout.
  • Proficiency in simulation tools such as COMSOL/SPICE and scripting languages like Python/MATLAB.
  • Proficiency in leveraging AI-assisted tools to enhance programming and simulation workflows.
  • Excellent critical analysis, statistical analysis, and logic/reasoning skills.
  • Direct experience with sensor design and integration.

Responsibilities

  • Lead development of sensing solutions from conception through product release.
  • Propose, design, build, and measure prototype sensing solutions.
  • Analyze design trade-offs and provide final design recommendations.
  • Design schematics and provide layout constraints for PCBs/FPCs.
  • Define calibration, test, and reliability requirements across the sensing-system supply chain.
  • Develop test and characterization software and scripts for verification.
  • Analyze engineering build data and assess process capability.
  • Perform failure mode analysis, root-cause diagnosis, and technical problem-solving.
  • Characterize, test, and verify sensing solutions.
  • Author clear and comprehensive hardware specifications and engineering build documentation.
  • Engage and collaborate with internal cross-functional teams.
  • Manage external partners and suppliers, providing engineering guidance on failure analysis.
  • Author executive communications pertaining to key development checkpoints.
  • Travel internationally to support product development.

Benefits

  • Employees at Apple are often offered comprehensive benefits that support physical and mental well-being—flexible medical plans, confidential counseling, onsite wellness centers at major campuses, and resources for fitness and daily life. Families typically receive fertility support, paid parental leave with gradual return, caregiving leave, and dependent-care guidance, while financial perks commonly include stock grants (with purchase discounts), 401(k) matching, and income-protection coverage. Employees also see robust time off, Apple University learning and tuition reimbursement, donation matching and paid volunteer hours, and deep product and partner discounts.
