Job description

The Early Life-cycle Manager (ELM) role within the Global Central Reliability Maintenance Engineering team focuses on enhancing Base Building Qualification processes. This position supports construction phases and equipment installation while utilizing data to identify root causes and implement improvements across Europe. The ELM Project Manager will ensure reliable and maintainable facilities from Day 1, contributing to Amazon's mission of customer-centric service. The role requires domestic and international travel up to 40% of the time.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience as an industrial engineer, operations engineer, manufacturing engineer, or project engineer in a manufacturing environment.
  • Bachelor's degree.
  • Knowledge of AutoCAD, VBA, and SQL at the intermediate level.
  • Experience working with and managing third-party vendors.
  • Experience with Six Sigma and lean manufacturing.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and secure completion of Installation and Operational Qualification (IOQ) assessments.
  • Demonstrate deep technical knowledge of base building systems to evaluate design specifications and troubleshoot commissioning issues.
  • Shadow and coach auditors during IOQ assessments to optimize checklist execution and resource allocation.
  • Drive checklist revision and historical analysis of qualification audits to improve specifications and standards.
  • Lead RME integration of top post-launch issues into building template specifications.
  • Own a portfolio of dynamic Business Units and define RME deliverable strategy.
  • Partner cross-functionally with various teams on budget requests and qualification coordination.
  • Integrate RME deliverables into General Contractor agreements and develop SOPs.
  • Design handover processes between teams, defining system readiness thresholds and success criteria.
  • Calculate cost avoidance by influencing lifecycle decisions at design and construction stages.
