Job description
The Mechanical Engineer role at AWS involves designing and innovating mechanical systems for data centers. You will work within a diverse team of engineers and specialists to ensure high standards of safety, security, and efficiency. The position requires hands-on mechanical design experience and the ability to drive projects from concept to completion. You will also support construction processes and collaborate with various internal and external stakeholders.
Requirements
- 4+ years of industrial or commercial engineering experience in mission critical facilities such as data centers.
- 4+ years of commissioning experience.
- Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent.
- Professional Engineer License.
- Experience with building codes and regulations for your region.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office including Outlook, Word, and Excel.
Responsibilities
- Work with internal teams to understand user requirements.
- Create data center mechanical designs and collaborate with other disciplines to produce construction documents.
- Specify appropriate mechanical equipment by working with regional vendors and manufacturers.
- Ensure compliance with city/county requirements and building codes by working with local agencies.
- Review and approve equipment submittals.
- Define project scopes and provide technical support during construction phases.
- Collaborate with commissioning teams to validate installation and performance of mechanical systems.
- Travel to sites for site reviews and work with onsite field engineers.
