The Fleet Remediation Project Design Mechanical Engineer will lead design projects in operational data centers to remediate issues, upgrade existing infrastructure, or add new services. This role involves collaborating with a diverse team of engineers and specialists to ensure safety and security while enhancing capacity and sustainability. The engineer will provide lifecycle support from design through implementation and will act as a technical subject matter expert. The position is critical to meeting customer needs as AWS continues to expand its global infrastructure.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent
- 2+ years of industrial or commercial engineering experience in mission critical facilities
- Knowledge of building codes and regulations for the region
- Experience carrying design concepts through exploration, development, and deployment
- Knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and controls systems for critical infrastructures
- NETA or ASHRAE certification or commissioning specific education courses
Responsibilities
- Own the design for existing data center upgrades and design solutions that add infrastructure and improve sustainability.
- Perform design and equipment submittal reviews for data centers in the region.
- Interface with internal and external design engineering teams to promote standards for consistency and reliability.
- Manage multiple concurrent projects across different geographical regions.
- Support construction, commissioning, operations, and turnover of projects.
- Prepare and present progress reports to relevant stakeholders.
