The ASIC Physical Design Engineer will be part of the Cloud-Scale Machine Learning Acceleration team at Annapurna Labs, focusing on the design and optimization of hardware for AWS data centers. This role involves working on custom chips and accelerators that support machine learning inference and training. The engineer will collaborate closely with RTL and logic designers to ensure high design quality while navigating complex trade-offs. The position requires a strong background in ASIC physical design and a commitment to innovation in a fast-paced environment.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Electrical Engineering.
- 8 years of experience with a BS or 6 years with an MS in Electrical Engineering or Computer Science.
- Experience scripting with Python, Perl, Bash, or PowerShell.
- 6+ years in ASIC Physical Design from RTL-to-GDSII in 7nm, 14/16nm, 20nm, or 28nm technologies.
- Expertise in using EDA tools such as Cadence, Mentor Graphics, or Synopsys.
Responsibilities
- Work with RTL and logic designers to drive architectural feasibility studies.
- Explore power-performance-area tradeoffs for physical design closure.
- Drive IO/Core subsystem/block physical implementation through various design processes.
- Develop physical design methodologies and evaluate third-party IP.
- Collaborate effectively with other physical design engineers and RTL/Architecture teams.
